Major Arcana

The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards numbered from 0 to 21, with each card representing a specific archetypal idea or symbol. The Major Arcana cards are considered more “important” or “universal” than the Minor Arcana cards and are often interpreted as depicting key life events or processes that most people can relate to.

Each Major Arcana card has its own specific meaning and symbolism, but generally, these cards reflect the journey of a person through life, from the naivety and initial enthusiasm represented by the Fool to the achievement of wholeness and fulfillment of potential represented by the World.

Many of these cards have roots in traditional tarot symbols, astrology, mythology, and numerology. For example, the Wheel of Fortune card represents the cycles of life, where everyone experiences periods of ups and downs, while the Sun card symbolizes enlightenment, willpower, and optimism.

Major Arcana cards can be interpreted in various ways and are often used as a tool for self-discovery, meditation, and divination. Each card carries a unique set of meanings, and how they are interpreted depends on the individual reading them.
